Scott Luxton has a background in business and in sales in the logistics industry, and has also been a chef in the past. He has recently graduated from the InceptionU Evolve program and is looking to pivot his career into technology. With his team, for his final class project, they built a responsive mobile application to navigate Calgary's +15 system (a series of connected bridges that join many of the buildings in downtown Calgary).
Thank you for listening to the Leaders, Innovators and Big Ideas podcast, supported by Rainforest Alberta. The podcast that highlights those people who are contributing to and/or supporting the innovation ecosystem in Alberta.
Al Del Degan I have been involved in software development for more than 25 years. I have started companies, lead companies and worked for companies - doing many different things. I am honored to be considered a leader in Alberta's innovation ecosystem, and I give back as much, and often as I can. When I am not working or podcasting, you will find me pursuing my passions of photography, crypto investing, and wood working along with the occasional round of golf.
Scott Luxton I am a passionate “outside the box” thinker with a growth mindset seeking to join a highly collaborative, adaptive, diverse, and innovative team. Recently I have been successful in account management and business development roles and I truly enjoy facilitating growth and innovation between clients and businesses with aligned goals and values.
Having recently completed the InceptionU full stack development program I am seeking a position where I can integrate the many business skills I have developed in nearly fifteen years of account management and business development with my recent technical training. My skills align perfectly with the requirements for client success, product management and sales support type roles and I am very excited to be pursuing such opportunities.
My family has deep roots in the Calgary / Banff region and I sit as a volunteer director on the Eleanor Luxton Historical Foundation. As a foundation our mandate is to preserve built heritage in the Banff / Bow Valley region, in particular the Beaver Street homes in Banff. Along with maintaining and sharing these five physical structures we are committed to providing educational opportunities through our museum and programing, as well as archival access for research and study. One of the projects I am most proud of is our foundations collaboration with the "Bison Belong" organization which saw the return of the mighty buffalo to Banff National Park in 2017!!!
